This Thorp S-18 is offered for sale in Auckland City. An all-metal, two-seat side-by-side sport aircraft, the S-18 is known for responsive handling and efficient cross-country performance, with folding wings that make storage and reduced hangar space more practical.

The aircraft has approximately 740 hours on the airframe and engine, subject to change. It is powered by a Lycoming O-360-A1A producing 180 hp and driving a fixed-pitch wooden propeller. The engine is operated on condition due to calendar age.

First flown on 6 October 2007, the aircraft was converted from nosewheel to tailwheel configuration in 2020 and is maintained by AeroTech, Ardmore. It is Night VFR capable and includes an aircraft cover.

The avionics fit includes dual Garmin G5 displays, with the second unit providing heading and compass information and linked to GPS and autopilot, a Garmin Aera 660 touchscreen GPS, Grand Rapids EIS Model 2000 engine monitor, EZ Pilot single-axis autopilot with GPS-course tracking, Trig radio, Trig transponder with ADS-B Out and an ADS-B In Ping receiver for traffic display on a tablet or phone.

Performance figures supplied include a cruise speed of approximately 140 kt indicated, around 150 to 155 kts TAS at altitude, typical fuel burn of approximately 33 L/hr and climb performance of approximately 1,500 fpm.
