De Havilland DH-84
$NZD390,000 + GST
A rare opportunity to acquire an exceptionally historic De Havilland DH.84 Dragon, Serial Number 2057, located in Blenheim, South Island, New Zealand. Offered at NZD $390,000 ONO (+ GST if sold in NZ) (approx. AUD $308,277).
Australian-built and formerly operated by RAAF and QANTAS, this aircraft is one of only 10 surviving DH-84 Dragons worldwide — and one of just five still flying. A remarkable vintage airliner that combines heritage, reliability, and unique operational appeal.
This Dragon was extensively refurbished in the 1990s for “champagne flights” and heritage tourism. It is powered by upgraded 145 hp Gipsy Major 10 engines with Fairey Reed airscrews, offering improved performance over the original 130 hp configuration. The aircraft also features folding wings for easier storage and hangar efficiency.
This is an extremely rare, museum-grade aircraft that remains operational and well cared for — a true flying time capsule.
