This 1979 American Champion 8KCAB Super Decathlon is a well-maintained, low-hour aerobatic aircraft offering outstanding performance, economical operation and the legendary handling qualities that have made the Super Decathlon one of the world's most respected tailwheel aircraft.

Powered by a Lycoming AEIO-360-H1B producing 180 hp, the aircraft has 1,610 hours total airframe time since new. It is fitted with a fixed-pitch Hartzell HC-C2YR-4CF/7666A-2 aluminium propeller, overhauled in November 2014, together with an inverted fuel and oil system and a full-flip fuel pickup, making it fully equipped for aerobatic operations.

The aircraft has always been hangared, is well maintained, has no damage history, and has had three owners since new, all private operators. It is presented in excellent overall condition and is certified for aerobatic flight rather than being an experimental homebuilt aircraft.

The avionics include an uAvionix AV-30-C configured for certified aircraft with GPS, ICOM IC-A200 VHF radio, Sigtronics SPM-400 intercom, together with oil temperature, oil pressure, fuel pressure, manifold pressure and tachometer instrumentation, an accelerometer (positive and negative G meter), and a Gill battery.

Additional improvements include new hoses (November 2024), new landing light LED, new NAV light glass, new tailwheel springs, new stainless-steel exhaust, new control stick grip, fuel tanks removed and repaired, wood spars inspected and confirmed to be in excellent condition, and a December 2025 annual inspection.
