The 1964 Cessna 185 C is a proven utility aircraft renowned for its rugged performance, outstanding load-carrying capability and versatility. This aircraft has undergone an extensive refurbishment and upgrade program, making it an excellent option for private, commercial or backcountry operations.

A full bare-metal rebuild was completed by Aero Support, Feilding, in 2005, during which the interior and avionics were upgraded and the aircraft was repainted. The paint remains in very good condition, and has had the same owner since 1989, with no damage history since 1974. Rural aviation modifications have been retained, including a reinforced cabin structure and roof-mounted trim rod.

Power comes from a Lycoming IO-470F producing 260 horsepower. The engine has accumulated 440 hours since overhaul, completed with new Titan cylinders installed in 2005, and benefits from an AOPA calendar extension.

The aircraft is comprehensively equipped with Twin VHF radios, Garmin G5 AHRS, ADS-B, six-place intercom, engine monitoring system, BAS inertia front seat belts, leather seats, 10-inch tailwheel, 8.00 x 6 tyres, spin-on oil filter, seaplane engine mount, new AC alternator exhaust and door stays.

With an empty weight of 845 kg, maximum all-up weight of 1,500 kg, 240 litres of usable fuel, and 170 kg wingtip tanks, the aircraft offers an impressive 485 kg payload with full fuel.

The airframe has accumulated 4,600 hours total time and is located in Wanaka, New Zealand. A 9 × 13 metre hangar is also available by separate negotiation.
