Built as a UC-61A for the USAAF and immediately shipped to England under the Lend-Lease agreement for use by the RAF and the Air Transport Auxiliary, flown mainly by women pilots. She was placed on the UK civil register post-war and exported to Australia in 1952. With the present owners for the last 25 years, 'Daphne' has always been hangared. She is registered with the Australian Warbirds Association and has a Special C of A in the Limited Category. Logbooks post-war, including UK civil flights, are available.

In addition to the engine overhaul, both magnetos, the starter motor, generator, coil and carburettor were all overhauled, and new batteries and new tyres/tubes fitted. There is also a comprehensive collection of spare engine parts including 7 Warner cylinders.
