1951 De Havilland DHC-1 Chipmunk
AUD$150,000
The 1951 De Havilland DHC-1 Chipmunk is a true warbird, having been to Berlin twice during its service. Renowned for its superb handling and agility, this tandem-seat trainer was extensively used by the RAF and other air forces. This particular aircraft underwent a comprehensive overhaul and rebuild by Tim Becroft, completed in 2003. The restoration included a full strip-down and repaint, new fabric, tie bars, canopy glazing, battery isolation relay, and replacement of damaged components.
