The Winjeel is a unique totally Australian designed RAAF aircraft that was manufactured at Fishermans Bend Victoria to meet Australian Airforce specifications as a basic trainer aircraft. For most of its service life A85-440 (VH-HFM) was used as a basic trainer at RAAF Base Point Cook in Victoria. In 1976 the aircraft was retired from flying in RAAF service and was allocated to the Tasmanian Air Training Corps where it continued to fly.
Between 1985 and 2024 the aircraft has had four private owners and has not been used for Adventure Flights during this time. The aircraft has a current MR through until December 2024 and is in exceptional condition now awaiting a new owner who is passionate about Australia's remarkable aviation history. The aircraft is sold with a new draw bar, overhauled tug which has been recently completely strip and repainted, as illustrated below. This is a turn key Australian Warbird with nothing to spend and ready to fly.
