2010 Javron PA-18 Super Cub
$AUD250,000
This particular aircraft was completed in 2010 by a highly regarded and experienced builder and represents a serious no-compromise backcountry/STOL machine. Built around a widebody Javron fuselage and fitted with Javron wings, the aircraft incorporates numerous Alaskan-style modifications designed to maximise off-airport capability, useful load, and short-field performance.
Purpose-built for both competitive STOL operations and genuine backcountry exploration, the aircraft delivers exceptional low-speed handling with a stall speed of approximately 26 knots, while still maintaining a comfortable cruise speed of around 80 knots. With a maximum weight of 1000kg and an empty weight of 607kg (before many weight-reduction modifications of approximately 85kg), this aircraft can easily accommodate two people, fuel, and gear for any adventure.
Power is provided by an Aerosport O-375 engine producing 195HP. Configured with standard 8.5:1 compression pistons, the engine is capable of operating on Mogas, while also promoting reliability and long-term engine longevity.
